UNESCO heritage rainforests of Odzala and Nouabalé-Ndoki — home to over 20,000 western lowland gorillas.

Ecotourism in the Republic of Congo

Odzala-Kokoua National Park — inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2023 — protects 13,500 km² of rainforest home to an estimated 20,000+ western lowland gorillas, managed in partnership with WWF, African Parks and WCS. Our ecotourism tours centre on this flagship site and on Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park, part of the Sangha Trinational UNESCO landscape shared with Cameroon and the Central African Republic.

In the Mayombe, the community-based Dimonika Biosphere Reserve combines forest protection with local livelihoods, showing how conservation revenue flows into the communities that guard the forest.
