Cultural Immersion Tours in Chad
Chad's cultural calendar is crowned by the Gerewol Festival — the Wodaabe (Mbororo) cattle-herders' courtship festival of elaborate male face-painting and dance, widely considered a more authentic version than comparable festivals in neighbouring Niger.
Beyond the festival, travellers encounter the resilient Toubou nomadic culture of the Tibesti region, the traditional villages of the Sara peoples in southern Chad, and the thousands of petroglyphs and paintings of the Ennedi rock-art sites that document millennia of Saharan pastoral life.
